This exclusive exhibition encompasses a collection of artworks that impeccably illustrate Song Sumin's evolving perspective within her ongoing artistic journey. The artist utilizes the internet to collect and store images from various sources, and then deconstructs and manipulates these collected images to create a new visual language. The resulting images, despite the evaporation of their original narratives, acquire fresh connotations and significance through the conduit of painting, all masterfully captured onto canvas.
Within this exhibition, you can encounter works in which the artist partially cuts and enlarges images that revolve around gardens bedecked with lush grass and resplendent blossoms. Natural phenomena, ranging from the explosive spectacle of volcanic eruptions to the mesmerizing dance of flames, also find their place within these creations, evoking scenes from a fireworks festival. Through various narratives that incorporate senses and spatial characteristics, we hope that you, as viewers, shall embark on an unparalleled experiential journey.
We sincerely hope that this exhibition will present a remarkable opportunity to showcase Song Sumin's trajectory in Hong Kong. With utmost respect and anticipation, we await the gracious participation of many visitors, whose discerning participation will undoubtedly add grace and significance to this event.
