"Hey, what happened?" I asked my uncle, whose head was slumped down. "Sometimes I just get sad, and my heart feels so heavy that all my strength is just sucked out of me. I just sink down to the floor and sit there vacantly."
I wondered what I would do if that happened to me. While I'm not sure exactly what that would be like, I think I'd be afraid of being alone. It struck me that hard times are event harder when you're on your own.
We need someone who understands how we feel, someone who can keep an eye on us, someone who can calm us down by quietly offering a shoulder to lean on.
So I offered my uncle a shoulder to lean on. I know my shoulder isn't that big, but I figured it would be big enough for that. He gave me a big smile.
